Already one of the world’s most important agricultural countries, Brazil is the fourth-largest fertilizer user globally. Through 2016, Brazil is expected to grow faster than the three largest fertilizer users (China, India and the U.S.). To meet this growth, Mosaic began a five-year growth plan in Brazil to increase our blending capacity and warehousing, optimize our logistics and increase our sales.
To meet its growing demand, Brazil is likely to continue to import phosphate and potash at a much higher level than even a decade ago.
Mosaic’s presence in Brazil
This map features Mosaic’s current assets in Brazil, as well our growth projects throughout the country. Our newly expanded blending facility and 50,000-tonne capacity warehouse in Candeias, Bahia, will increase Mosaic’s blending capacity and improve logistics capabilities. Construction has begun on an additional 50,000-tonne capacity warehouse in Sorriso, in the state of Mato Grosso. Both investments are expected to lead to a greater share of sales in these key areas.
