Our NGL pipelines provide
a strategic market outlet for
NGLs produced from plants
owned by DCP Midstream, the
Partnership, and third parties.
Our NGL Logistics business has been and will continue to be our key focus
area as we grow the Partnership.
NGL LOGISTICS
The NGL Logistics segment consists of our recently
acquired DJ Basin NGL fractionators, our Marysville
NGL storage facility, and four NGL pipelines that are
integrated with gas processing plants owned by the
Partnership, DCP Midstream, and third parties.
The segment began with an interest in the Black Lake
NGL pipeline and the Seabreeze pipeline along the Gulf
Coast of Texas, followed thereafter with construction of the
Wilbreeze NGL pipeline. This business was bolstered in
2010 with the acquisitions of our Wattenberg NGL pipeline,
additional interests in the Black Lake NGL pipeline, and the
Marysville NGL storage facility. The Partnership also assumed
operatorship of the Black Lake Pipeline with its acquisition
of an additional 55 percent ownership interest. The pipeline
spans Louisiana and Texas and connects to the Mont Belvieu
hub. In 2011, we acquired our DJ Basin NGL fractionators
located in Colorado and completed the Wattenberg NGL
pipeline expansion.
The Marysville NGL storage facility is well positioned with
its storage services to the increasingly active Sarnia refning
and petrochemical corridor. We are in active discussions with
various Sarnia market participants regarding storage expansion
opportunities associated with NGL takeaway solutions for the
Marcellus and other emerging shale plays in the area.
The recently expanded Wattenberg pipeline, which connects
the DJ Basin to the Conway hub, is experiencing higher near
term throughput than originally planned due to rapidly increasing
volumes in the DJ Basin. Also in the DJ Basin, we are achieving
the growth we targeted from the recently acquired fractionators.
Additionally, our Seabreeze and Wilbreeze pipelines are
experiencing growth through increased volumes coming from
the Eagle Ford shale.
This segment is complementary to the gathering and
processing business, generating predominantly fee-based
margins and offering broader exposure to the midstream value
chain. It has been and will continue to be a key focus area for
us as we grow the Partnership.
