      S&P Capital IQ Pro Release Highlights

      In this release, we added new datasets and tools on Capital IQ Pro, designed to enhance our client's daily workflows:

      • All users will gain access to ChatIQ, a Generative AI assistant that enables them to ask questions on S&P Capital IQ Pro data, providing them with significant time-saving responses and simplifying navigation throughout the platform.

      • We added a new outlook summary to S&P's earnings call to provide users with forward-looking insights, including revenue projections, earnings estimates, key drivers, market conditions, potential risks and uncertainties, among other factors.

      • We enhanced business descriptions for over 450,000 private companies, delivering more robust and accurate information about their business operations to enhance the deal-sourcing workflow.

      • We introduced daily Open, High and Low values for indices and added Moody’s Bond indices to our coverage, offering deeper data visualization insights and diversified data offerings.

      • We upgraded our delivery and coverage of SENS announcements, a regulatory service offered by the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) that covers various announcements, including mergers and takeovers, rights offers, capital issues, annual consolidated financial results, dividend declarations and board changes.

      ChatIQ

      In this release, all Capital IQ Pro users will gain access to ChatIQ, a Generative AI (GenAI) assistant that enables users to ask questions about S&P Capital IQ Pro data, providing them with significant time-saving responses and simplifying navigation throughout the platform.

      ChatIQ

      Users can ask a question on ChatIQ to quickly gain insights, verify accuracy and easily navigate the Capital IQ Pro platform. It also includes click-through to the source content or document within Capital IQ Pro. Users can also refresh their ChatIQ session to start a new thread at any time.

      ChatIQ has been trained on the following S&P Capital IQ Pro data:

      • Professionals

      • Key Developments

      • News & Industry Research

      • Transactions

      • Market Data

      Find it in the platform:

      • Navigate to the Apps tab from the top navigation and select ChatIQ

      • Use Ask a Question text bar, type a question you would like ChatIQ to answer and use the Generate button to submit

      • Review the answer and click the links to navigate to the source to continue your research

      • After asking a question, you can let us know about your experience by using the Thumbs-upThumbs-down, and Feedback options

      • To start a new chat, navigate to the top right of the screen and click the Start New Chat button for a new session

      Data is available in the same timelines as S&P Capital IQ Pro (*refreshed on a daily basis).

      Giving Feedback and Support Opt-In

      Users can provide feedback to help us improve ChatIQ as well as opt-in for our support team to assist via email. Our support team can help to find the data they need within ChatIQ. Leaving the opt-in checkbox blank will still allow users to submit feedback on ChatIQ.

      • Navigate to the Apps tab from the top navigation and select ChatIQ

      • Use Ask a Question text bar, type a question you would like ChatIQ to answer and use the Generate button to submit

      • Select Please contact me to discuss my feedback whenever you submit feedback via ChatIQ

      Document Intelligence

      In this release, we introduced Earnings Call Outlook summaries to provide users with forward-looking insights as shared by a company’s management team during an earnings call.

      Summary of Earnings Call Outlook

      This new feature is available for earnings call transcripts from Jan 15, 2025 onwards. The new Earnings Call Outlook summaries will provide users with forward-looking insights, including revenue projections, earnings estimates, key drivers, market conditions, potential risks and uncertainties, among other factors.

      Find it in the platform:

      • Navigate to the Documents tab in the top navigation to go to the Document Intelligence page

      • Scroll down to the Transcripts & Investor Presentation widget

      • Filter for Earnings Call transcripts

      • Click on a document to view it

      • Navigate to the Summary panel under Select By Topic

      Private Company

      In this release, we enhanced business descriptions for over 450,000 private companies, delivering more robust and accurate information about their business operations to enhance the deal-sourcing workflow.

      Enhanced Business Description for Private Companies

      Users can now access more comprehensive business descriptions for over 450,000 private companies. These enhanced business descriptions are generated using Generative AI (GenAI), offering a more complete view into the company's business operations, products and services, and clientele. Sourced from the company websites, these newly updated business descriptions will help stakeholders, investors, and clients quickly understand a company’s core operations.

      In the coming months, we will be increasing this coverage in further phases, expanding the breadth and depth of the business descriptions on Capital IQ Pro to include even more companies and better identification of companies operating in niche and emerging industries of interest.

      • Search for a private company from the top search bar and navigate to its Corporate Profile

      • Navigate to the Company Description section to view the updated business description

      Documents & Filings

      In this release, we enhanced our delivery and coverage of SENS announcements. The Stock Exchange News Service (SENS) is a regulatory service offered by the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) for listed companies to publish company announcements and news to the market in compliance with the JSE listing requirements.

      SENS announcements from the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE)

      Users can access Stock Exchange News Service (SENS) announcements from Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) on the Capital IQ Pro platform. These announcements are accessible in all areas where company filings are available, including Dashboard, Alerts and Document Intelligence. The coverage includes various announcements including mergers and takeovers, rights offers, capital issues, annual consolidated financial results, dividend declarations and board changes.

      Find it in the platform:

      • Navigate to Dashboard from the top navigation bar

      • Go to the Newswire widget and click the gear icon in the top right to open the settings

      • From the Content filter, select Documents

      • From the Document Source filter, select Johannesburg Stock Exchange (SENS)

      • Click Apply to view the SENS announcements in the Newswire widget

      • These announcements can also be accessed on the Alerts and Filings pages throughout the platform

      Market Data

      In this release, we introduced daily Open, High and Low values for indices and added Moody’s Bond indices to our coverage. These improvements aim to provide users with deeper data visualization insights and diversified data offerings.

      Open, High, and Low for Indices

      Users can now view daily Open, High and Low values for indices in charting capabilities across the Dashboard and Index Profile. This will drive more meaningful analysis and help glean deeper insights from index pricing data.

      Find it in the platform:

      • Index Profile page:

        • Search for and select an Index from the top search bar

        • Navigate to the Index Profile page and scroll down to the Index Chart

        • Hover over the chart to view Open, High, Low & Close values

      • Dashboard:

        • Navigate to Dashboard from the top navigation bar

        • Select List widget from the Add Widget menu at the top right to add it to the Dashboard

        • Select Chart widget and add an Index

        • Hover over the chart to view Open, High, Low & Close values

      Moody's Bond Indices

      Users can now access Moody's Bond indices on the Capital IQ Pro platform. This data will also be available through the S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in.

      Below is the list of available indices:

        • Navigate to the Index Profile page for the selected index

      • S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in

        • Open Excel and launch S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in

        • Navigate to Identifier Lookup, select Indices tab, enter Moody’s in the search bar, select required indices and click Apply

        • The selected Moody’s index identifiers (SPT IDs) will export to Excel for use in formulas

        • E.g., to reference Moody's Bond Yield Avg - BAA Rated Corporates Price Return index, Formula =SPG(“SPT2631488”, "SP_LASTSALEPRICE", "01/27/2025")

      Industry Classifications

      In this release, we updated the Nomenclature of Economic Activities (NACE) Industry Codes in accordance with the NACE 2.1 revision. This update is effective from 2025 onwards and provides the latest NACE industry classifications for various companies.

      Latest NACE Industry Codes

      The NACE 2.1 industry code revisions include new industry classifications to reflect emerging economic activities. With these changes, the total number of industries increased from 996 to 1,047.

      Key Changes:

      • The Information and Communication section has been restructured into two new sections

      • The revised NACE codes will more accurately represent the full spectrum of environmentally sustainable activities

      • There is an increased focus on digital platforms, including the introduction of intermediation service activities

      • In the Wholesale and Retail Trade, there is a shift towards emphasizing the products sold rather than the methods of distribution

      • Search for and select a company to navigate to it’s Corporate Profile

      • View the Corporate Data widget on the Corporate Profile page

      • The updated NACE code will display in the grid within the Corporate Data section

      Coverage stats:

      • About 5.5 million companies across industries and regions, have their NACE codes updated to align with this new taxonomy.

      Sustainability

      In this release, we integrated Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) Data Quality Scores into Screener and the S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in. This enhancement is designed to elevate the transparency and comparability of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3, providing users with more reliable data for their sustainability assessments.

      Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) Scores

      Environmental dataset users can now effectively screen for companies and access detailed information related to PCAF Data Quality Scores for S&P-generated Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emission disclosures. These scores are based on the financed emissions methodology, which helps improve the transparency and comparability of emissions data disclosures.

      Find it in the platform:

      • S&P Capital IQ Pro platform

        • Navigate to Dashboard from the top navigation

        • Select List or Portfolio or Quote widget from the Add Widget menu at the top right

        • Within the Field Selector, expand Sustainability > Environmental > Environmental KPI > S&P Generated > PCAF folder

      • Screener:

        • Navigate to Screener from the top navigation bar or the Apps menu

        • Select Companies view, navigate to Sustainability category under Browse Criteria on the left

        • Expand Environmental > Environmental KPI > S&P Generated > PCAF folder

      • S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in

        • In Excel, launch S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in and open Formula Builder

        • Under Data Items, expand Sustainability > Environmental > Environmental KPI > S&P Generated > PCAF folder

      S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in

      In this release, we provided the option for users to enable S&P Capital IQ Pro Office commands in the right-click menu within S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in.

      Users can choose the right-click options setting to determine the availability of S&P Capital IQ Pro Office commands in the right-click context menu.
