July 2025 S&P Capital IQ Pro Release Notes
S&P Capital IQ Pro Release Highlights
In this release, we added new datasets and tools on Capital IQ Pro, designed to enhance our client's daily workflows:
Headcount Analytics: We introduced Headcount Analytics within the S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in and added department and role trends, as well as department ratios, to the People Summary page.
ISO Pricing Data Expansion: We expanded coverage to include Real-Time LMP prices for the ERCOT region and rebranded the Market Intelligence Power Forecast pages to Market Indicative Power Forecast.
Data Center Capacity Insights: We launched a view of Data Center capacity expansion timelines, enabling premium Data Center Research subscribers to identify growth opportunities.
Metals & Mining: We enhanced the coverage of commodities in the Mine Emissions tool by adding Iron Ore, offering a comprehensive view of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions data.
Sustainability: We expanded our Physical Risk dataset offering by adding new landslide hazard data points across various scenarios and time periods for companies and their assets.

Private Markets & Private Company
In this release, we enhanced our Private Markets offerings by introducing Headcount Analytics within the S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in. Additionally, we have incorporated department and role trends, as well as department ratios, into the Headcount data available on the People Summary page.
Headcount Analytics in S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in
All users can now access monthly headcount data by country and state, alongside gross additions and gross departures, within the S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in. This enhancement provides users with a detailed view of a company’s geographic headcount distribution and month-over-month growth. It includes a time series for the total number of employees as well as more granular analytics such as hiring and attrition trends, supporting deal sourcing workflows.

In Excel, launch S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in and open the Formula Builder
Navigate to Company Details > General Business Details > Headcount Analytics folder to pull Headcount data by Country / Region Name, State and Month, Gross Additions and Gross Departures
Headcount Analytics Enhancements on People Summary
On the People Summary page, all users can now access department and role headcount trends, along with department ratios. The existing geographical spread and peer comparison charts have been enhanced with data grids that display the underlying data.
Find it in the platform:
Search for and select a private company from the top search bar
Navigate to the Corporate Profile in the left-hand menu to view the Headcount Analytics widget
From the left-hand menu, go to the People Summary page and select the Analytics tab to view Headcount over time, Geographical spread and Peer Comparison
Energy
In this release, we expanded our ISO Pricing Data coverage to include Real-Time LMP prices for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) region. We also re-branded Market Intelligence Power Forecast pages to Market Indicative Power Forecast.
ISO Power Prices
Users can access ERCOT real-time power prices on the Historical Commodity View Screener perspective and the Commodity Charting tool within Market Price. This feature enables users to value generate assets and portfolios and track the impact of renewable integration in these regions.

On the Energy profile specialization, navigate to Screener from the top navigation or the Apps menu
Select Historical Commodity View
Select ERCOT in the Source drop-down
Choose the required Location and real-time Instruments
Coverage stats:
ERCOT Real Time: Access to approximately 17,000 nodes within the ERCOT market, offering hourly, daily, monthly, and annual pricing for on-peak, off-peak, and around-the-clock periods
Technology
In this release, we introduced a view of data center capacity expansion, detailing the timelines for when this additional capacity becomes available, enabling premium Data Center Research add-on subscribers to identify growth opportunities at each data center facility.
Data Center Expansion in Real Estate Screener
Subscribers to the Data Center premium add-on will gain access to additional data points projecting each facility's next phase of expansion, including planned capacity and corresponding expansion dates.
Find it in the platform:
Navigate to Screener from the top navigation or the Apps menu and select Real Estate Properties
Select Data Center in Property Types dropdown
Open Field Selector or Display columns, navigate to the Data Centers folder
Under Data Center Metrics, select the required fields from Expansion/New Construction Activity
Coverage stats:
Projected expansion metrics for 1,957 data centers
Metals & Mining
In this release, we added Scope 1 and 2 emissions data for Iron Ore in the Emissions Curve.
Enhanced Commodity Coverage in Mine Emissions Curve tool
Users can access enhanced coverage of commodities in the Mine Emissions tool, as we added Iron Ore to the existing list of commodities with a comprehensive view of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions data.

Click on Mine Emissions to access the page
Coverage stats:
Cobalt, Copper, Gold, Iron Ore, Lead, Lithium, Molybdenum, Nickel, Palladium, Platinum, Rhodium, Silver, Uranium and Zinc.

Sustainability
In this release, we expanded our Physical Risk dataset offering by adding new landslide hazard data points in company pages, Dashboard, Screener, and the S&P Capital IQ Pro Plugin, providing users with deeper granularity into a company’s Physical Risk exposure.

Physical Risk Scores for Landslide Hazard
Users can now access Physical Risk scores that indicate exposure to landslide hazards across various scenarios and time periods for companies and their assets. These new data points enhance our already comprehensive Physical Risk hazards by detailing exposure to landslide conditions, quantified using landslide susceptibility maps and projected changes in the frequency of antecedent rainfall index (ARI) values above the historical 95th percentile.

S&P Capital IQ Pro Platform:
o Search for and select a target company in the top search bar
o Navigate to the ESG and Climate section in the left-hand navigation menu
o Select Climate Analytics > Physical Risk
o Or select Sustainability Coverage List from the Sustainability menu in the top navigation bar
o In the row for your company of interest, locate the Physical Risk column and click Yes to navigate to the company’s Physical Risk page
Dashboard
o Navigate to the Dashboard from the top navigation bar
o Select List or Portfolio, or Quote widget from the Add Widget menu at the top right to add it to the Dashboard
o Open Field Selector, expand Sustainability > Physical Risk folder to find the new fields
Screener
o Navigate to Screener from the top navigation bar or the Apps menu
o Select Companies view, go to Sustainability category under Browse Criteria on the left
o Expand Physical Risk sub-category to find the new metrics

o In Excel, launch S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in and open Formula Builder
