Sports costs not the only reason for rising multichannel bills
January 2013
Multichannel operators have a love-hate relationship with the owners of cable networks, and much of the hate has recently been directed at two segments, sports networks and those channels with extremely low ratings which provide little value to subscribers. Operators have been providing more channels every year, which adds to the bill and it's already been rising due to the payment of retransmission fees to broadcasters.
